Interactive Lessons to Support Student Learning Choice

Creating lessons that engage students at their pace and provide
​class time for rigorous discourse and activities. 

Implementation Plan Overview

September 2020 

  • Discuss plan and goals with the administrator during the beginning-of-year goal-setting meeting.

  • Create Interactive lessons from previously recorded lessons. Edit videos for time and relevancy.

  • Introduce the idea of watching video lessons to students. 

  • Allow time for students and staff to get familiar with new technologies.

  • Write lesson plans to include elements of the full plan to build familiarity with them for students.​

  • Collect Data from the interactive video application to see engagement. â€‹

  • Survey students on lesson delivery methods.​

  • Analyze data from the interactive video application and student surveys.​

  • Continue to write lesson plans to include elements of the full plan to build familiarity with them for students. â€‹

  • Check on device status for 1-to-1 with technology liaison. â€‹

  • Collect Data from the interactive video application to see engagement. â€‹

  • Check on device status for 1-to-1 with technology liaison. â€‹

  • Analyze grade data from the end of the first grading period and compare it to the second grading period grades to look for changes. 

  • Reflect on information from the first semester to begin thinking about changes to the process for next year.

January 2021

All Chromebooks are scheduled to be delivered to students for the full 1-to-1 experience.

  • Warmups that evaluate a student's prior knowledge created in Schoology for quick feedback for the student and teacher.

  • Write lesson plans with familiar elements from the first semester and introduce grouping and discourse to the students.​

March 2021

  • Analyze grade data from the end of the third grading period and compare it to the first and second quarter grades. 

  • Survey students on the new lesson format. â€‹

  • Analyze data from the interactive video application and student surveys.​

  • Write lesson plans with groups, adjusting the format based on student feedback and grade data.​

May/June 2021

  • Analyze grade data from the end of the third grading period and compare it to the fourth grading period grades.

  • Analyze grade data from the first semester and compare it to the second semester grades.

  • Survey students on lesson format. Use the same questions to compare with previous responses and include year-long reflection questions.

July 2021

  • Review yearlong data and begin the plan for 21-22. Think about changes to the process for next year.

​

August/September 2021

  • Plan for the new year with information from the previous year

  • The plan will depend on the learning situation for the next year and results from 20-21 data.​

​
